Can someone tell this non-denominational believer what the Pope actually does anymore? The last one didn't do anything except hide pedos. Is he just going to make statements about society every time something comes up? Seriously. What else is there to this job that actually means something. I mean, for Obama, it's all about vacations and golf and shopping (for Mrs. Obama), and giving money we don't have to foreign countries. At least I get what he does.

True story,
when I met the doctor who did the missus's bone marrow transplant he was introduced with this very germanic name. Now I had read his CV prior to the appointment, and it clearly stated that he was born and raised in Rio down in Brazil. Yet here was this man standing 6'2" and looked extremely german and he is probably in his early 60s. Just the right age for parents to have fled from nazi germany. Probably party members themselves!

Not surprising. In my pidgin Spanish, I pointed to a few of their name tags and asked "Aleman?" The response was uniform: "Yes, my grandparents fled Germany when the Nazis came to power because they were afraid of what Hitler might do."
My favorite are all the stories about how the new Pope always "never wanted to be Pope".
